How to change Application Context root using MyEclipse 2014

MyEclipse 2014 is a latest version of myeclipse10. Compare to previous versions of myeclipse changing of context root is little bit different. Now I am going to explain how to change context-root of an application in myeclipse 2014.

  1. Open myeclipse 2014 and create a simple web project.

2.  Right click on the project and select properties from the list of options.

3.  Select MyEclipse from the left side menu marked in yellow

4.  Select ‘Project Facets’ from the submenu option of MyEclipse

5.  Select ‘web’ from the Project Facets option and you can see the right side ‘Web Context-root’ by default with the project name. Here you can change”/SampleProject” to your specific name like “/webProj”.

6.  Now you can restart your Tomcat Server and run the application with the latest context root. As given below: http://localhost:8080/webProj/

I think you have successfully changed the context-root of your application. If not, or facing any issues with Tomcat Configuration in MyEclipse or Installation issues you can check once again and restart the server.
